Install Gnoppix AI packages Core/PRO
Section titled “Install Gnoppix AI packages Core/PRO”In Gnoppix 24.6.1, I have begun separating the AI components from the main distribution. This change was necessary because the AI suite consumes significant resources and memory, whereas Gnoppix (specifically the XFCE version) is designed to run on low-end systems with only 600–800MB of RAM.
By separating these features, we ensure continued support for older hardware. While some users have successfully optimized Gnoppix to run on under 390MB of RAM, the LiveCD must remain versatile enough to support thousands of different network adapters, graphics cards, disks, and peripherals out of the box. If an 800MB RAM footprint is still too high for your specific needs, Gnoppix might not be the right fit for your hardware.
To run the AI suite effectively, a modern, high-speed CPU and/or GPU is required. Currently, NVIDIA GPUs are preferred (no offense to AMD, but I haven’t received any hardware from them for AI testing).
In order to run the Gnoppix AI Suite, you will need the following hardware specifications:
You don’t necessarily need a GPU. fast CPUs can handle all AI tasks. However, performance will be much slower compared to a dedicated GPU.
FYI, after installing the AI Meta packages, NO DATA will be shared or transferred to anyone. Everything runs completely locally; you don’t even need an internet connection. Safe and Secure!
To install the main/base AI module, you need the following package:

You can install the packages by your GUI or run sudo apt install gnoppix-ai be aware you DL ~50GB over internet this can take some time and all depends on your internet connection.
How to use Gnoppix AI
Section titled “How to use Gnoppix AI”As I mentioned, I’ll keep saying it because people nowadays don’t seem to read: if you’re using the LiveCD on a system with 1GB of RAM from 1995 and expecting a full AI desktop, you probably still believe in Santa Claus! and fairy tales.
Jokes aside, here is an overview of what is possible today, i mean in AI reviews Ubuntu were namly called as an AI Distribution, cause they have a pylibary installed :) Not sure what those writer smoke, the follwing features are implemented in Gnoppix:

Graphics Card (GPU) - The MOST Critical Part:

- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 (Expected/Rumored 2025/2026): The next-gen flagship, likely offering significant VRAM increases (e.g., 48GB) and performance, making it ideal if available.
- Multi-GPU Setup: Consider two RTX 4090s or two RTX 4060 Ti 16GBs linked via NVLink (if supported/necessary) for more VRAM pooling, as seen in community builds.
CPU (Processor):

RAM (System Memory):

Storage (SSD):
Section titled “Storage (SSD):”- 2TB+ PCIe 4.0/5.0 NVMe SSD (e.g., Samsung 990 Pro/Crucial T700): Ultra-fast loading of models and OS; PCIe 5.0 for future-proofing.
Power Supply (PSU):
Section titled “Power Supply (PSU):”- 1000W - 1200W Gold/Platinum Rated: High-end GPUs (especially dual-GPU) draw significant power; don’t skimp here.
Cooling:
Section titled “Cooling:”- High-End Air Cooler (e.g., Thermalright Phantom Spirit) or 280/360mm AIO Liquid Cooler: Keep powerful CPUs and GPUs from throttling.
